DRAMA WRITING WORKSHOPS
The drama writing workshops, led by writer/ director Paul Anthony Morris provided the foundation to the programme. Working with three professional actors the participants systematically explored the art of comic book storytelling by using the 'Live Comic' technique. They investigated a range of narratives including conflict and collaborated together to find a resolution that adhered to the 'Hero Inside' philosophy.
This richness of storytelling was achieved by setting up various improvisations to determine multiple outcomes and to acquire the language and patterns of dialogue that are synonymous with the genre of comic book storytelling. Participants were able to develop their characters profile and back story and to assume complete autonomy over their narrative and personal experience within the workshop before independently writing their own 'hero inside' story ready for illustration.
